Return Line in Hell

The return line in hell stretched for miles, and along the way those who wanted to return defective items were whipped and jabbed with pitchforks.

Nevertheless, Kit was determined to return the pair of shoes he had bought at the Hell Sports Outlet.  Finally, he reached the counter.

“These shoes are defective,” said Kit.  “Even time I put one on, my leg swings up and the shoe kicks me in the throat.”

“Oh, they’re supposed to do that,” said the clerk.

O.K., thought Kit, but I’m never buying that brand again.
