Listening to the Fuhrer
Ernst was trying to listen to the Fuhrer on the radio, but the kids were yelling and running around.
“Can’t you kids be quiet, I’m listening to the Fuhrer!” he said. “And keep that dog quiet, I’m listening to the Fuhrer!”
“But Dad always listens to the Fuhrer,” said little Hans. “We want to listen to the Glockenspiel Boys.”
“Your father has worked all day at the munitions factory,” said Mom.
“Yes, can’t a man come home and listen to the Fuherer?” said Ernst.
He turned back to the radio in time to hear the announcer say, “This has been ‘Listening to the Fuhrer.’” He groaned.
