Deer Hunters
Lonnie and Otis argued about who had shot the most deer that day. Lonnie tried to play the peacemaker. “Let’s just say we both shot a lot of deer and leave it at that.”
But Otis was insistent. He said Lonnie shouldn’t count the deer that was tangled up in barbed wire.
“O.K.,” said Lonnie, “but then you shouldn’t count that pet deer you shot, the one the farmer had with him when he told us to get off his property. That deer was on a leash.”
Finally Otis came up with the game winner. “Remember when we were driving home. after we got drunk, and I shot that deer-crossing sign?”
Lonnie laughed and agreed that Otis was the winner.
