The Glass Jackass

Mabel McCoy was a kindly old lady, and very happy. And why not? She had all the jackasses she could ever want. As she gazed from her kitchen window she could see them frolicking in the field. But there was one thing she didn’t have, and one thing she always wanted: a glass jackass.

One day a delivery van pulled top out front, and some men began unloading a large crate marked “Fragile.” A couple of her jackasses came up to sniff.

But when she opened the crate, it was only the set of dishes she had ordered. Mabel McCoy smiled to herself. Maybe she was the glass jackass.
