The Orphan Catcher

The orphan catcher was on the verge of retiring when he saw the wanted poster.  The boy who had escaped was three-foot-one — taller than the average orphan.  He had escaped by climbing up a vine against the orphanage wall, then throwing his Linus blanket over the glass shards embedded on the top.

Clearly this fugitive was very clever.  The orphan catcher couldn’t resist the challenge.

The orphan evaded capture for nearly three months, but was finally cornered in a tree he had climbed.  The orphan catcher hit him with the sonic blaster, three times, but the tyke held on.  He finally tumbled down after being stuck with a tranquilizer dart.

The orphan catcher smiled.  He could retire in peace.
