Johnny Comeback
He was called Johnny Comeback because of the witty comebacks he had. For instance, if Johnny’s tea kettle was whistling for a long time, someone might say, “Hey, turn off that tea.” And Johnny would come back with “Hey, turn off that mouth.”
Then the person might say, “Your comebacks aren’t even that good,” and Johnny would reply, “Well, your pants aren’t even that good.”
“See what I mean,” the person would say.
“See what I don’t mean,” Johnny would retort.
There was no outwitting Johnny Comeback.
